Angles and lines — SHSAT practice questions

Angles and lines on the SHSAT Mathematics test covers parallel lines cut by a transversal, supplementary pairs, and exterior angles of a regular polygon. A student has to name the relationship, find a missing degree measure, or recover how many sides the polygon has from one exterior angle. Questions are multiple choice and usually ask for a single number: the measure of angle x or the side count. Answer choices often look like nearby degree measures or nearby side counts. Common traps are confusing alternate interior angles with corresponding or consecutive interior angles, treating supplementary as complementary, and using an interior-angle formula when the stem gives an exterior angle.
