Organization and Logic — ISEE Upper practice questions

On the ISEE Upper, Organization and Logic asks students to see how a reading passage is put together and why its ideas follow one another. A student must recognize the overall plan of a passage, such as time order, comparison, or cause and effect, and track how one claim supports the next. Questions often ask which option best describes how the passage is organized, and the choices usually name structural patterns in a few words. A common trap is picking a pattern that fits one paragraph but not the whole selection, or choosing a description of the topic instead of the structure.
