Cross-Text Connections — SAT practice questions
Cross-Text Connections on the SAT Reading and Writing section pairs two short related passages and asks how they relate. A student must identify each author's claim or attitude and then compare them: whether they agree, disagree, or qualify each other. Questions often ask how one author would respond to a claim in the other text, or which statement best describes the relationship between the passages. Common traps include choices that summarize only one text, reverse the authors' views, or overstate agreement or conflict. Answer choices are typically brief relationship descriptions or predicted reactions rather than details from a single passage.
