Translating between tables and graphs — ACT practice questions
Translating between tables and graphs on the ACT Science test means converting the same results from a data table into a figure or from a figure back into a table. A student has to map columns to axes, keep units and scales aligned, and recognize which trend a graph would show if drawn from a given table. Items sit in a data passage and ask which graph, point, or missing value matches the other display. Common traps are swapped axes, the wrong series, and treating a curve as a straight line. Answer choices tend to be rival graphs, coordinate pairs, or values that fit the wrong row or column.
